Chris Harmon
Chris Harmon is an artist, educator, and proud parent, living and working in Portland, Or. His role as Art Handler at the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation provides a limitless well of inspiration for his printmaking practice. In his monotypes, Chris often focuses on non-objective abstraction imagery, allowing experimental mark making to drive the image.
His interest in printmaking was strengthened during a lithography apprenticeship with Mahaffey Fine Art, as well as a study abroad at Il Bisonte in Florence, Italy.
Harmon teaches an evening block-printing class at Multnomah Arts Center, that he has developed over the last ten years. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking from Portland State University in 2008.

Emily Bixler graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2004 with a BFA in Sculpture.
Her practice includes sculpture, drawing and large scale installation as well as her accessory line BOET, a working investigation of fiber and metal, in operation since 2010. Particularly interested in the conversation that is made when soft forms are limited/enhanced by rigid structures, Bixler’s work investigates relationships and relational aesthetics. Having studied printmaking during her undergrad, Brave Atlas is providing a platform for her to investigate her ideas through print once again.
